Boxer Mike Tyson Will Help Roast the Warlock Charlie Sheen

comedy, charlie sheen roast, mike tysonIt’s always good to see former world champ Mike Tyson expanding his entertainment career. After all the money promoter Don King took from him, he probably needs the work.

Tyson, fresh off of his roles in Hangover and Hangover 2, is teaming up with Comedy Central to roast actor Charlie Sheen on Monday, September 19th. According to the LA Times, “The former heavyweight champion will be joined by TMZ’s mastermind Harvey Levin and ‘Jackass’ star Steve-O, and comedian Anthony Jeselnik and Jeffrey Ross.  Other roasters are expected to be announced.”

Admittedly, it’s going to be hard for people to laugh at Tyson playing the role of comedian. The former star will walk on stage one year removed from telling CBS he was completely “destitute and broke.” He spent three years in jail for rape back in the early 90′s. In 2007 he pleaded guilty for drug possession and DUI. Next to having Michael Vick up there, he’s probably the most awkward person to watch telling a joke.

Then of course there’s what to do when all the media puns: “Tyson can throw a punch, but how about a punchline?” Or, “Mike Tyson will throw comedic jabs in Charlie Sheen roast.” And then there’s, “Tyson and company prepare to take the gloves off with Charlie Sheen.”

I guess this is what people do when there’s not a hurricane in New York.
