“I am on a drug. It’s called Charlie Sheen.” – Charlie Sheen
And that is why I’m going to watch. Charlie Sheen is extraordinary. Maybe not extraordinarily talented, but he does operate in some higher realm. It’s a dangerous realm that may ultimately see him follow in the footsteps of a few too many 80′s rockstars, but you have to respect a guy who brazenly stands by the only lifestyle he feels is worth living.
Tomorrow night at 9 p.m. Sheen’s new comedy Anger Management premieres on FX. Jace Lacob of the Daily Best explains the plot of the show, saying, “Sheen plays a variation on himself: a womanizer named Charlie who derailed his career with a public flameout…In Anger Management, the fictional Charlie Goodson ended his baseball career by trying to break a bat over his knee. Now he helps people with their own rage problems!”
Lacob laments that the show is “repetitive” and strays from the recent edginess FX has shown with such comedies as Louie. I advise people to take my own strategy, and watch the show with no expectations. All I’m hoping for is a chance to see the Charlie Sheen that captivated cable news for three weeks, left us with a closet full of t-shirts with insane quotes on them and proved once again that a three sum with porn stars still remains every man’s fantasy.
There has to be that Charlie Sheen in this show somewhere.
