Comedian Caleb Medley, DK Shooting Victim, Released from Hospital

Almost two months after the movie theater massacre in Aurora, Colorado, comedian Caleb Medley is released from the hospital on Wednesday.  Medley is now going to be placed in a long-term care facility.

The Huffington Post reported that the hospital would not disclose much information on the comedian’s condition due to privacy laws.

Medley was the last victim to remain in the hospital after that July 20 shooting.  He suffered a head wound and has lost his right eye.  Although he was released from the hospital, Medley is not completely responsive, LaughSpin reported.

Medley was one of the 58 people wounded that night, 12 others were killed.  His wife, Katie, was able to make it out of the theater unharmed, and gave birth to their son, Hugo Jackson, four days later.

“[Caleb] is still very sedated, but he is slowly coming around.  He has been following commands much better, and he has been able to open his left eye!” Katie posted on Facebook on September 7.  “Hugo is doing well also, he is getting big!  Hopefully father and son will meet soon!”

A website has been set up to help assist the Medley family with Caleb’s medical bills since they do not have medical insurance.  So far, almost $392,000 has been donated for Caleb.
