Comedian Chelsea Handler Signs Reported $25 Million Deal with E!

For years comedian Chelsea Handler has been the queen of E! network, regularly roasting celebrities, entertainers and commenting on the  ridiculousness of Hollywood. Now deadline.com is reporting that she’s signed a huge new $25 million deal to stay with the network as host and executive producer of Chelsea Lately through 2014.

But that’s not all. “She will also develop and produce shows via her production company, Borderline Amazing Prods, which will have a first-look deal with E! and NBCUniversal,” reported Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva.

Handler was rightfully praised by her network for the success of her show, which kills in the 18-34 ratings demographics.

“Chelsea is an extraordinary talent whose smart, clever, no-holds-barred point of view has clearly been embraced by viewers,” remarked E! President, Suzanne Kolb. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Chelsea as we build on the success of Chelsea Lately, which has become the late-night destination for young adults, and collaborate with Borderline Amazing Prods on developing even more hit shows.”

The story wouldn’t be complete without a great quote from Handler. When the deal went public she quipped, “It’s a great time for women in comedy, and it’s a great time to have real breasts.”
