Comedian Gets Punched in the Face after Mocking Asians (Watch Video)

More violence has taken place against stand-up comedians. A few days ago, a comic performing in New York named Brett Eidman was punched in the face by a man sitting in the front row with his girlfriend after Eidman made fun of Asians.
The attacker, of Asian ethnicity and identified as “George”, was sitting quietly as Eidman went through his routine. Eidman performed a made up character named Dom Fuk and quoted from Stanley Kubrick’s Vietnam War movie Full Metal Jacket. The video shows George and his girlfriend are clearly not responding positively to Eidman’s humor.
One member of the audience can be heard exclaiming “Jesus Christ!” as George jumps on stage and throws a vicious punch to Eidman’s face.
Eidman commented after the incident, writing on Twitter, ”I will heal and regroup and hit the stage again soon. I’m just glad this ass wipe didn’t have a gun.”
It’s being reported by one news outlet that Eidman is retiring the character Dom Fuk. There has also been speculation by people who have seen the video online that the incident is a fake or a stunt setup by Eidman to create publicity. Let us know what you think.

I also wonder if this is real. I think it takes a lot to provoke another person to attack, especially in a public place where people are recording. Plus, Asians (and racial minorities) in general have to deal with racist crap like this all the time, yet they aren’t assaulting people all the time. Finally, George doesn’t strike me as the kind of guy who rushes into fights, with his slight build and pony tail. Instead, he’d probably take his girlfriend and leave.
I can’t say I feel bad for the comedian. I guess I should be aghast that someone jumped up and punched him in the face, but I’m not. Why should someone be subject to something so brutally racist? He thought nothing of the racist stereotype he portrayed on stage, so you know, the guy just went with it by going all Bruce Lee on his ass. The comedian was disgusting, unfunny, and provoking “George” and his date. I don’t feel the least bit sorry for the Dom Fuk. Oh, if this was a set up, get funnier stuff so the audience won’t cheer when you get punched.
Horrible comedian, just Not. Funny.
I also vote for this as a stunt. Way too fake feeling.
[...] Comedian mocks Asians. Comedian gets punched by audience member. Entire thing might be staged. [America's Comedy] [...]
There is a fine line between comedy and racism, and this guy wouldn’t know the difference if it got up and punched him in the face. Comedy!
This guy is a bigger joke than his punchlines and it was clearly set up. Sadly, Brett, and I know your reading this, You are a disgrace to comedy especially the Second City and Improv itself as you claim this to be a character you created to change the way comedy was done. Wrong jerkoff, obviously bigoted characters don’t represent the SC or improv. You are a hack in the truest sense of the word and this sad attempt at publicity will be not only your most known submission to humanity, but your swan song in entertainment. Who is the Dom Fuk now Brett? Jackass…
