Comedian Louis C.K. Cast in Upcoming Woody Allen Film

Woody Allen knows his comedy. The cast for his current project, currently untitled, includes Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay, and Alec Baldwin. There’s still no leak on what the film is about or the nature of the characters but if the talent is any indication it’s going to be heartwarming, funny, and especially neurotic.
Before becoming a world renowned writer and director with Annie Hall, Crimes and Misdemeanors, and Midnight in Paris Allen worked as a stand-up comedian. In 2004 Comedy Central placed him at number four on their Top 100 Comedians List.
Current comedians who have made a successful transition from stand-up to film are often compared to his career but it’s C.K who is the most similar to Allen. Both men were able to make the transition while still keeping complete control over their work. C.K has even discussed how Allen has influenced his comedy, even parodying Manhattan in the season three trailer for Louie.
Other actors already signed to the film include Peter Sarsgaard, Cate Blanchett, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Emerson and Sally Hawkins. The film is set to shoot in the typical Woody Allen setting of New York and San Francisco this summer.
