Comedian Louis C.K. Talks Emmy’s, How To Handle Being Awesome

comedian, comedy, louis c.k., interviewComedian Louis C.K. opened up in an interview with deadline.com about recently being nominated for four Emmy’s. C.K. is the writer, director, and lead actor of FX’s hit comedy series Louie, which just entered it’s third season. He’s been in the business for twenty-five years, and his celebrity has never been bigger. Deadline TV contributor Ray Richmond asked C.K. what he thinks of the praise thats been thrown his way by names like Chris Rock and Ricky Gervais.

“It’s nice to hear, but also a little weird, you know? You can’t buy into any of it,” said C.K. “I’ve been doing this for 25 years and have been up and down a lot. You get hot for a while, then it turns right around. I remember doing the Young Comedians Special in Aspen in 1995 and that was the first time where I felt like I was on some kind of a roll. The lesson I took away was not to take any of it too seriously.”

Being a veteran comedian has definitely given C.K. the perspective he needs to stay grounded and hard working. He’s very humble throughout the interview, but makes it clear he wants to win those four Emmy nominations.

” I personally don’t need it. I’ve already won,” said C.K. “It would also reward all of the amazing crew people who work so hard making Louie what it is and maybe give the crew job security and (producer John) Landgraf even more credibility.”

You can watch Louie Thursdays at 10:30 pm on FX, and don’t forget to check out the full interview at deadline.com
