Comedian Patton Oswalt Will Guest Star on CBS’ ‘Two and a Half Men’ (Watch)

I’ve written before that comedians often make surprisingly great actors. Patton Oswalt certainly showed that in Diablo Cody’s movie Young Adult. The comedian now plans to show off more of his range by guest starring on CBS’ hit show Two and a Half Men.

Oswalt was recently tweeting about his appearance on the show, according to Laughspin. “Need to realize the gallery — in my head at all times — of judgmental versions of my 22 year-old self & friends all want sitcoms now,” the comedian said.

Oswalt clarified in his next tweet, writing, “My last tweet was a grammatically inept way of saying, ‘Get over yourself, Patton’…Or, as Alan Moore so perfectly put it: ‘Posterity, reputation & cool are TRAPS.’” It would appear Oswalt had some reservations about participating in the sitcom genre, which, when done the wrong way, can often look corny.

Oswalt’s character on Two and a Half Men is named Billy, and he’s a business partner of Ashton Kutcher’s character, Walden. Tensions flare up when Billy comes up with a plot to make boatloads of money without the help of Walden.
