Comic Kathy Griffin Calls Michele Bachmann A Bigot On TBS’ Conan

comedian, comedy news, kathy griffin, michelle bachmannComedian Kathy Griffin has one of the loudest mouths I’ve ever heard, but people love her because of it. That is, everyone except Rep. Michele Bachmann, a recent Tea Party presidential candidate, who heard Griffin’s – let’s just say – unkind words during a rally in Washington, D.C.

Monday on TBS’ Conan, the quirky Griffin called Bachmamnn, “Cuckoo.” She also said of the candidate, ” As you know, she’s a comedian’s dream. I don’t know if she’s great for the country, but she’s great for comedians.”

You would have thought that Bachmann may have left the situation alone, but no. She agreed to speak with Griffin on camera. Bachmann was rightly afraid her eyes would be ripped out the instant she made too conservative of a remark in front of the adamant comic.

Griffin said on Conan, “I said, ‘Congresswoman Bachmann, I am holding a rally to help repeal ‘Don’t ask, don’t tell.’ May I count on your support?’ As you know, she’s not so down with the gays.”

Bachmann’s response was a “I don’t think so,” but go figure.

To put the icing on the cake Griffin asked her final question,”Congresswoman Bachmann, were you born a bigot or did you grow into it?” The audience was cheering when Griffin revealed her new rival’s answer. “Her response was priceless,” Griffin announced, “She said, ‘That’s a good question, I’ll have to get back to ya.’ If someone accuses you of being a bigot, that’s about as bad as it gets. But she had to get back… President Bachmann! C’mon people, think about it. It’s funny.”

Here’s a clip of Griffin talking to O’Brien about Bachmann:
