Conan O’Brien Tour Comes To Sacramento

Conan O’Brien Arrives in Sacramento May 6th

After recently parting ways with NBC, putting what is considered a momentary stall in his career, Conan O’Brien has announced a 30 city tour that includes the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on May 6th. The tour, named the “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television,” tour was born due to a clause in O’Brien’s exit contract with NBC that doesn’tallow him to appear on TV until September.

O’Brien is launching the tour in Eugene, Ore. and is visiting both big cities like Chicago, Dallas,  San Francisco, New York and Atlanta as well as smaller towns like Sacramento, Eugene and Reno. He also has two venues in Canada on the schedule.

“It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house” said O’Brien, who has been sharing experiences from his post-”Tonight” life at home through his recently launched Twitter account,” he was quoted as telling the Hollywood Reporter.
He used Twitter to announce the tour Thursday morning.

“I’ll be doing all Liza Minnelli songs,” he wrote.

American Express is sponsoring the tour, and tickets are $35, $55 and $75 and are on sale through promoter LiveNation.

“It promises to be a night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence,” the organizers said.
