Denis Leary’s New Song “Kiss My Ass”

Just in time for the Fourth of July Denis Leary has released a new song called “Kiss My Ass,” a “celebration” of the American flag, freedom, and gas-guzzling SUV’s.
“The National Anthem is a truly great song but it’s really hard to sing and it’s not that funny,” Leary said. “I wanted to create an alternative anthem that makes you tap your feet and has the word ‘ass’ in the title.”
The song is a jazzy, rat pack style swing number about the idea of America being a lazy, complacent country. At one point in the song Leary sings “The world’s a fucking mess and I could not care less, cause I’ll be on my sofa playing [Nintendo] Wii.” At another point Leary explains the importance of voting, saying “if you don’t get out there and vote… you don’t find out who the winner is on American Idol.”
You can purchase the song from iTunes or any other digital music store. Will the song become a staple of Fourth of July playlists?
