Development Unarrested??

Arrested Deveopment the movieAs a die-hard fan of the Bluth family since we were introduced in 2003, I can say that the continual rumors of whether or not the alleged Arrested Development movie are still going strong. However Jeffrey Tambor recently stated that the film is in fact being written.

“I think what’s coming down is, certainly, the negotiation over my trailer is what I think is stopping people, he joked.
No, it’s all going straight, everyone’s on board, I know they’re writing, and maybe next time this year we’ll be having this conversation.”

Fans of the show know that the rumors of this film started right as the last episode ended with Alia Shawkat’s character, Maebe, pitching the Arrested Development film to Ron Howard, who stated that he saw the story as more of a movie rather than a TV show, sending fans into a tizzy about when the film would be made.

The series ended after 3 seasons, with the last season episode order cut in half. Fans of the show were outraged and disappointed in Fox for deciding to cancel the show. Allowing the show to be produced in the first place had given Fox bonus points for the demographic that usually distrusts Fox. Really the story of the show’s uprising and cancellation just proves how useless Fox can be when it comes to quality entertainment.

At this point, believing Tambor would be easy, but I’ll really celebrate once the film has a release date.
