Divorce Can Cause a Massive Headache; Ask Comedian Russell Brand

Celebrity divorce is never a pretty sight, but some are affected more than others. Last Thursday, Russell Brand told an audience at a stand-up show in LA, “I have a terrible pain. I need pain killers. Sorry about this. I feel nauseous now. I feel sick.”

Could this be as result of suddenly realizing that he has waived a huge portion of Katy Perry’s fortune in the divorce papers they signed last Tuesday? Despite no prenuptial agreement, Brand did not ask for spousal support or a share of Perry’s massive earnings. Perry probably signed her documents with a smile on her face.

Brand did continue his set after taking medication from his aides at the side of the stage. During the show he said that he had become “disenchanted and disillusioned” with life as a celebrity and he will use his time to campaign on a number of issues including child labor and the U.S. prison system.

Meanwhile Perry used her appearance at Sunday’s Grammy Awards to debut a new song that expresses her feelings toward Brand – “You chewed me up and spit me out/Like I was poison in your mouth/You took my light, you drained me down…You ripped me off, your love was cheap.”

Let’s hope for Brand that he will recuperate from this ordeal and will use it in his upcoming stand-up shows.

About the Author: I was born in the sixties in a little country in the Middle East. I never heard about stand-up comedy until I moved to the USA in 1984 where every night at 10:30 I watched the Johnny Carson show hoping to see a stand-up comic. Since then watching stand-up comedy has been tasteful, zero calorie food for my soul. Currently I reside in Israel.
