Extreme ‘Frienemies’ and Seth MacFarlane’s Zany Movie Pitches

The term “frienemies” has never made more sense to me than in this video. Eliza Coupe, from ABC’s Happy Endings, stars in FunnyorDie’s new sketch about two friends who are always trying to one up the other while at the same time, faking huge smiles on their faces. Sounds like an extremely healthy relationship! The tagline couldn’t have been more accurate: “Two of the worst people ever sit down for lunch.”
Creator of Family Guy and director of the new film Ted, Seth MacFarlane takes time to rant on Collegehumor.com about some of his rejected movie pitches. Every single idea had a famous person with some sort of inanimate object that talks. For example: Kelsey Grammar and a bowl of shredded coconut, Liam Neeson and a baseball card, and Denzel Washington and a plum. MacFarlane asks after listing the off the wall ideas, “Were these pitches rejected because they were ahead of their time? Or because I wrote them one night on a muffin wrapper with a fever of 105?” We’d like to say the latter.
