I can’t believe it. After months of speculation and Howard Stern admitting it would take a “boatload of money” for him to replace CNN’s Piers Morgan on Americas Got Talent, it is now official: the man who probably needs the most censorship from your kids will actually be on national television.
“Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America’s Got Talent starting this summer,” said Paul Telegdy, President of Alternative and Late Night Programming. “He’s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.”
According to sources, Howard says that he’s going to represent the American people by being straight forward and honest with contestants.
Having followed Howard’s career since he first got in to radio, as well as seeing his awesome film Private Parts a dozen times, I can honestly say this is shocking. My question is, will the producers at NBC give Howard the freedom to “light it fly” every episode?
What’s even more surprising is now there’s something other than The Office or Parks and Rec that will make me tune in to NBC.
