Hurricane Sandy Affects Late Night Television

Hurricane Sandy is terrorizing more than the northeast and mid-atlantic coast; television is in jeopardy as well. Due to the storm, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Colbert Report have cancelled their Monday tapings.
These shows are not the only ones affected. Jimmy Kimmel Live was also forced to cancel taping due to Kimmel being in Brooklyn for Monday’s episode, The Huffington Post reported.
However, not all of America’s late night line up is giving up that easily. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Late Show with David Letterman taped last night’s episode, but without an audience! The Chicago Tribune reported that Fallon and Letterman plan to be audience-free for at least Monday’s episode. No word on if The Daily Show and Colbert Report will continue taping on Tuesday.
“Tomorrow’s status is [to be determined] and will be evaluated as the day and storm track progress,” a Comedy Central spokesperson said yesterday. For tonight, tune in and see if your favorite episode will be shown again. Hopefully by tonight television will return to normal.
In other comedy news, Louis C.K rescheduled a stand up performance at New York’s City Center, and movie theaters and Broadway were closed.
