IFC Gets Funnier, Adding Comedy Bang! Bang! and Bunk to Weekly Lineup

The Independent Film Channel has grown in popularity over the past few years with it’s awesome array of movies and recent addition of The Onion News Network. Now IFC has added two creative comedies to it’s portfolio with Comedy Bang! Bang! and Bunk.

“With popular shows like Portlandia and The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret currently on our air and now the addition of Comedy Bang! Bang! and Bunk, IFC is quickly becoming known as a destination for top comedic talent,” said Debbie Demontreux, IFC’s senior vice president of original programming. “These shows fit perfectly with IFC’s mission to create fresh, original, off-kilter comedies, and we’re thrilled to add them to our 2012 line up.”

Hosted by Scott Aukerman (who is the co-creator of Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis) Comedy Bang! Bang! is a sketch variety show with guest celebrities and animation. Comedian Reggie Watts is in charge of the music.

The show Bunk is an interesting parody on game shows hosted by comedian Kurt Braunholer. The story goes that IFC “discovered” Bunk at the 2010 New York Television Festival.
