‘It’s My Life Whatever I Wanna Do’ and Funny or Die’s Todd Akin Apology

creed bratton, todd akin, apology, funny or die, video, watch, legitimate rapeThis summer, viral videos have been a plenty. There have been so many “Call Me Maybe” parodies I forgot which song is the real one. Continuing with the musicality of viralness, one that had been pushed under the rug seems to have resurfaced and I just couldn’t resist. YouTube singer Vennu Mallesh has been found by over 220,000 YouTubers so far with his song, “It’s My Life Whatever I Wanna Do.” He comments that his song, “is a non-fictional, psychological and philosophical Song written by Me.”

Sometimes the truth of what is meant to be said comes out the wrong way and there is no better example at the moment than with the recent comments by Republican Representative Todd Akin. In a way of counteracting what he said about “legitimate rape,” a public apology went out and Funny or Die found it too irresistible to not parody. The Office‘s Creed Bratton plays the representative and portrays how the apology should have gone down. If he actually sang Billy Ray Cyrus’, “My Akin Breakin’ Heart,” an instant forgiveness might have been in store on the grounds that he is a darn clever man.
