The preparations for the 83rd Academy Awards celebration are now in full motion. The welcome archway is set, the red carpet is rolled, the press is buzzing, the staff is busy. So is the late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. He’s been working for weeks on his post- Oscar special.
ABC’s six consecutive Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards will premiere Sunday, February 27 following the local news. Kimmel welcomes Tom Hanks and Cee Lo Green to this year’s show where Hanks will share the first look at his upcoming movie “Larry Crowne.”
“We’re very fortunate to get Tom Hanks,” Kimmel said. “There are going to be at least two bits on the show that people are going to spread around virally afterward.”
Kimmel previously debuted such videos as ” I’m F***ing Ben Affleck,” and “Handsome Men’s Club.” This year he promises segments on how to keep your body in shape with the visual help from Jessica Alba, Sophia Vergara, Eva Longoria, Kelly Ripa, Minka Kelly and more.
“Don’t wait until your grandma e-mails this to you,” Kimmel said. “Watch it live, stay up. For God’s sake, it’s not that late. What are you? Six years old? You should be ashamed of yourself.”
