Thursday night on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the comedian mocked Osama Bin Laden for his recently exposed writing collection. With this week being the one-year anniversary of bin Laden’s death, the government revealed the unseen letters written by the former al-Qaeda terrorist.
In the Osama Bin Writing episode, Stewart poked fun at bin Laden’s attempt to re-develop his image. Stewart could not believe bin Laden had time to write these documents, taking it as far as calling bin Laden a, “hoarder surrounded by 29 cats and two decades worth of JC Penney catalogs.” Stewart showed no mercy to the deceased and his personal letters.
“Dear wife number seven. How is son number 19? I miss you. Tell me what you’re wearing…over your face,” Stewart joked.
CNN called the documents a “treasure trove” that gives us a glimpse into bin Laden’s mind.
Within the 15 thousand documents that were released, bin Laden discussed the “bin Laden brand,” renaming al-Qaeda and developing a plan to assassinate President Obama.
CBS news stated the government released these documents for three purposes: to show American success, to discredit al-Qaeda and to remind Americans that even with bin Laden out of the picture, America is still the number one target.
