Jon Stewart Uses Puppets to Mock Sen. McCain

On Wednesday’s Daily Show with host Jon Stewart, the satirist mocked Senator John McCain’s (R-AZ) explanation of the cause of recent forest fires along the border between the U.S. and Mexico.
“We are concerned about areas down on our border where there is substantial evidence that some of these fires are caused by people who have crossed our border illegally,” claimed McCain at a recent press conference. However the U.S. Forest Service is saying they have no evidence to support the Senators accusation.
Stewart immediately hopped on the comments and questioned how exactly McCain came to such a wild conclusion given that there was no evidence to back it up.
“How do you know if a fire is started by an illegal?” asked Stewart. “Is there a mesquite tang to the smoke?”
The Senator backed off his comments the next day when corrected by the media, but only to more of Stewart’s dismay.
“See now I’m confused…because earlier in the thing you said we had evidence that these fires…perhaps the only way to settle this is to speak to Senator John McCain himself. But since he fucking hates us..”
At that point in the show Stewart had a puppet that resembled the old, white haired senator and began a fake dialogue with it.
“Senator, it’s nice to see you again,” Stewart said.
The host then began to make fun of McCain’s wordiness, apparent distrust of illegals, and his short term memory.
