Kate Flannery’s Second Season of ‘StandUp in Stilettos’ Premieres Nov. 10

StandUp in Stilettos returns to TV Guide Network with its festive host, comedian Kate Flannery – best known for her role as Meredith Palmer on NBC’s The Office.

In each episode of StandUp in Stilettos, three different female comedians do an original stand-up routine. This season some of the beautiful faces appearing on the show are Thea Vidale (The Drew Carey Show), Cory Kahaney (Last Comic Standing), Cathy Ladman (appeared on The Tonight Show), Luenell (Borat) and Conan writer Laurie Kilmartin! (Read our interview with Kilmartin here.)

“There are so many great, funny women we couldn’t fit them all in one season. Not even close!” Flannery expressed. “This show is a great half-hour of stand-up comedy. The only difference between our show and other stand-up shows is that occasionally there’s lipstick on the mic.”

The show is shot in front of a live audience in a comedy club where the material is not only written and performed by women, but also is specifically about women, too.

“It’s a nice intro for people who might be closed-minded about women in comedy,” Flannery said in an interview. “I cannot believe that in all the years that there have been female stand-ups, there has never been a show just for them. The girls can play just as hard as the boys, so I think it’s long overdue.”

Besides being on The Office, Kate has appeared on many talk shows and helped create some of her own shows like The Miss Vagina Pageant.  Performing stand-up is not new to her as she’s been a big part of  ”The Lampshades,” a comedy lounge act which commonly has sold out audiences.

The second season kicks off Saturday, November 10 at 11:00 PM ET/PT.
