Lewis Black’s Take on Lance Armstrong’s Doping

Comedian Lewis Black expressed his patented raging disappointment in regards to the accusation of Lance Armstrong’s enhancement drug use on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. However, his disappointment is not in the same aspect as the rest of the country.
Armstrong has not admitted to doping although teammates have claimed to see him taking the enhancement drugs. Instead, he has refused to address the charges filed against him by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, Examiner reported. As a result, Armstrong has most recently lost his Nike endorsement and was stripped of his Tour de France titles by USADA earlier this year.
Black’s disappointment in Armstrong is on a different side of the spectrum. He is not mad at Armstrong for doping, because he has many accomplishments. Black is upset that Armstrong will not admit to his mistake.
“I mean look what doping did for him,” Black argued. “This is a guy who had cancer in his lungs, his brain, his testicles, he went through chemo, and lost one of his balls for Christ’s sake and he’s getting double the oxygen out of every breath.”
Black also argues that since Armstrong has been so successful in his career, that he did right by doping.
“The question shouldn’t be, ‘Was he doping?’ Black said. “The question should be, ‘Why aren’t all of us doping?’”
