O’Reilly and Stewart: Not Enough Gel to Go Around

America may be facing tumultuous times with the pending presidential election charging at us. The consensus of voters seems unenthusiastic and lackadaisical while throwing the term “lesser of two evils” around. Thankfully there is something to actually look forward to.
Playing fields have been decided and the contenders’ dukes are up. In one corner stands Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and in the other The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart in a snide and punch line filled modern clash of the titans.
The funny and the funny looking (I’ll let you decide which is which) are gearing up for all out warfare and debate to decide for millions of Americans who to vote for.
The debate, tagged “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium,” is set for Oct. 6 at 8:00 PM and will be available for live stream for a reasonable five bucks (or 25 Wendy’s chicken nuggets) at therumble2012.com. Half of the proceeds will go towards multiple charities of both O’Reilly and Stewart’s choice. E.D. Hill of CNN will take the title as moderator for the event that will serve as a Mock Presidential Debate.
Notorious as frienemies, O’Reilly and Stewart hold no punches in regards to idealism, political allegiance and silly aesthetic slights. Politics favorite badgering couple has already begun pre-fight showmanship, “I told him we’ll pick up all the hair mousse he needs,” O’Reilly said recently in a phone interview.
Light hearted as the debate may be, serious issues are bound to surface and tensions will rise. Jabs will be thrown. The political Amos and Andrew are a guaranteed night of terrified and clever giggles.
