Paul Reiser Releases His Debut Album

Paul Reiser is known for having a creative flair no matter what he does. The popular 90s sitcom “Mad About You,” which gained him Emmy, Golden Globe, American Comedy Award and Screen Actors Guild nominations for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, is the best proof for his talent recognition. Now, actor/writer/stand-up comedian could add a Grammy to his achievements.
What may come as a surprise to his fans, is only natural to Reiser,53. After all, he studied music and composition in college. Playing around with ideas and possibilities produced positive results. Together with British singer/songwriter Julia Fordham he released his first album “Unusual Suspects” in November. One of the songs “Unsung Heroes” gathered special attention. It’s a heartwarming tribute to those who serve overseas and their families.
“I finished ‘Mad About You’ 10 years ago, and thought, ‘I’ll finish on a Monday and I’ll be back to my music and by Tuesday, I’ll be writing a symphony.’ Wednesday came around and I said, ‘well, maybe it’ll be awhile.’ Ten years later, I thought, ‘you’re not getting younger,” Reiser quipped.
You can hear Reiser and Fordham play at the Catalina Bar & Grill, 6725 W.Sunset Blvd., L.A. at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
