Ricky Gervais Busy As A Bee

Ricky Gervais has his hands full these days. Not that he is complaining, but it does seem like he has quite a few projects running side by side.

The English comedian just had a new stand-up special “Ricky Gervais: Out of England 2 — The Stand-Up Special” premiered on HBO. The DVD  of his first season “The Ricky Gervais Show,” an animated podcast series, is due to be released in a few weeks. The series second season starts the same week Gervais hosts the Golden Globes Awards show on January 16 on NBC. He is also shooting a walk-on part in Disney’s new Muppets movie the day before the show.

But Gervais thinks his schedule is not all that bad, and that he turns down a lot of projects if they take too long to shoot or not near his house. However that didn’t stop him from going all the way to Chicago to film his stand-up special. Not that we are complaining.

Gervais’ second time hosting The Golden Globe Awards promises to be even better. In a recent conference he told the interviewers that he planned to “push the boundaries a little bit more” at the ceremony.

“I had such a great time last year but like anything you do for the first time you go, ‘Oh, let me do it again! I can do it better!” He quipped. “I think I pitched it about right but I think I can go a little bit further. I’ve realized I can reference anyone in the room. I’m going to have even more fun with it. What’s the worst that can happen? I didn’t expect to be invited back a second time and I won’t do it a third so I have nothing to lose.”
