Ricky Gervais Life's Too Short HBONo matter what Ricky Gervais does, it ends up being a success. The man behind “The Office,” “Extras” and “The Ricky Gervais Show” just had a go for his new show “Life’s Too Short.”

HBO officially confirmed that it will pick up the new comedy series written by Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The seven episodes will debut on BBC 2 later this year, and will air on HBO in 2012. The show, which is a mockumentary blend along the lines of “The Office” and “Extras” revolves around a fictionalized version of 3 ft. 6 in. actor Warwick Davis who hustles his way back into the spotlight no matter what it takes.

Each episode promises to have a nice cameos by stars. Johnny Depp, Sting, and Steve Carrell have been confirmed for a guest spot on the show. Gervais and Merchant will play themselves in minor roles throughout the series.
