Short Bus TV Uses Dark Comedy To Raise Awareness

The controversial online sketch comedy show Short Bus TV is known for its dark humor. The creators Shaun Cardwell and Danny Hirtler often put together a skit depicting child neglect, abuse, drug addiction and death. Even though the topics are no laughing matter, it’s their way to raise awareness about issues many people would prefer to refrain from discussing.
Short Bus TV has just announced a launch of a new philanthropic approach to support children in need varying from cancer research to third world aide.
“We’re just using our skills and talents to raise awareness in the best way we know how to, and we really feel that we’re presenting these topics to a demographic that generally wouldn’t give them two thoughts” said Hirtler, who is also the show’s head writer.
The show’s creators have been involved in several charity projects in the past. They organized a fund raising gala for St.Jude’s hospital in Wilkesboro, NC (their home town). They recently held a comedy event with all the proceeds going towards buying Haitian children Christmas presents.
“We’ve officially pledged to contribute our skills and talents to help raise at least $15K this year across the board in aide and awareness for a diverse area of needs,” noted Hirtler.
Short Bus TV is hoping to fulfill the pledge before the year is over.

That cop skit is pretty funny. Not sure what issue they were raising awareness for with it though lol maybe how the police abuses power. I looked at some of their other stuff and it’s pretty funny
Oh wow, that’s so awesome! Glad to know there’s people out there that still care
