Comedian Dave Attell is set to host a brand new Showtime television series entitled “Dave’s Old Porn,” in which he and his buddies volunteer their honest opinions on classic films from the Golden Age of pornographic cinema.
Tonight at 11:30 p.m., the premiere episode will start with a bang (no pun intended) when Attell welcomes comedian/sitcom star Whitney Cummings and adult film icon, Ron Jeremy.
“It’s cool watching porn with funny ladies,” said Attell. “It’s fun hearing their take on it. It’s refreshing.”
“Dave’s Old Porn” was shot in the same frame of mind as retired comedy show, “Mystery Science Theater 3000.” Attell and his guests watch and comment on the vintage footage and are also integrated into the films with the help of graphics and green screen work.
“We watch clips of retro adult movies from the Golden Age of the early ’70s to mid ’80s and then we bring out people who were actually in the movies,” said Attell. “Stars like Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley, Paul Thomas, Georgina Spelvin and Herschel Savage. We’ve shot a lot of people.”
Well-known comedians like Chelsea Handler, Greg Fitzsimmons, Margaret Cho, Daniel Tosh and Adam Carolla all make appearances on the show as well.
Attell told XBIZ Newswire that eight episodes have already been shot for the first season and these will run through December.
