The incident occurred in New Orleans where Brand was shooting a movie. While walking along the streets on Monday night “he reportedly grabbed the iPhone from a member of the paparazzi who was photographing him and threw it through the window of a law firm,” according to TMZ.  Photographer Timothy Jackson, claims that Brand flipped out when  he discovered that Jackson was  taking pictures with his iPhone.  According to the photographer, Brand wrestled the phone out of his hand and threw it against a window shattering the glass.

While Brand has yet to officially comment on the ordeal, he did tweet the following:  ”Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”  Looks like Steve Jobs is in part to blame for the incident.

In addition, the comedian may face up to felony charges if the property damages exceed $500.

Three years ago, Dick was arrested at Buffalo Wild Wings in Murrieta for being his usual self and pulling down a 17-year-old girl’s shirt and bra while drunk. He was slapped with a $700 fine and three years of probation.

Andy Dick is among the long list of celebrities who, while intoxicated, have participated in some of the funniest and most ridiculous acts in human history. But, if it wasn’t for them, who else could we turn to for the assurance that our life is pretty damn good.

At the top of the list is one of the most infamous police confrontations: Mel Gibson. While being arrested for a DUI and speeding in 2006, Gibson did not help his own cause by saying a slur of anti-semitic comments to none other than the Jewish arresting officer. He is also responsible for the very creative pet name “sugartits.” In two statements, he blamed his actions on his insanity at the moment and checked himself into rehab. Unfortunately, this newfound sobriety led him to the making of the major blockbuster flop Apocalypto.

A close second happens to be the best turn-around story for anyone. After years and years of arrests for drug charges, Academy Award nominee Robert Downey, Jr. was discovered sleeping in his child neighbor’s bed after mistaking it for his own house during a wild night of drug bingeing. In an amazing and courageous turnaround, Downey finally succeeded in sobriety and became the first actor to be nominated for an Oscar for playing a character of a different race.

Celebrities caught on tape have been Ben Affleck (Quebecois), Paula Abdul (every episode of American Idol) and Mariah Carey (Palm Springs International Film Festival), along with Kiefer Sutherland and Orson Welles.
