The world of comedy has lost another dynamic persona today. Comedienne queen Phyllis Diller, born Phyllis Driver, passed away today in her longtime Brentwood home. She was 95.

Diller was born on July 17, 1917 in Lima, Ohio.  She was married to Sherwood Diller, who she had six children with, and to Warde Donovan; but both marriages ended in divorce.

Diller’s agent, Fred Wostbrock, confirmed to Deadline that the comedienne’s health had been in decline since she suffered a bad fall.  Diller passed away in her sleep and surrounded by family.

Diller was most known for her unique laugh and erratic appearance: her wild hair, gloves, ankle boots, eccentric sheaths, and jeweled cigarette holder.  She described her stage persona as “the Elizabeth Taylor of The Twilight Zone,” LA Times reported.

NY Daily News reported that although Diller has made an impact in the comedy world, she did not start performing until she was in her late 30s.  Her talent was spread across big screens, small screens, comedy clubs, and comedy albums.  There was no limit to her reach.

Diller’s eccentric persona, laugh and husband “Fang” jokes will be greatly missed.

Life keeps getting better for comedian Kevin Hart.  After conquering the world of stand-up comedy and the big screen, he shows no signs of stopping . The comedian has landed a new deal to star in a sitcom for BET titled House Husbands.

The sitcom was based on a sketch that aired during the BET Awards last year and also included Anthony Anderson, Nick Cannon, Bobby Brown, and Nelly.  Although there is no confirmation on whether the original co-stars will appear on the sitcom, it is certain to bring lots of laughs along the way.

Hart has done several stand-up comedy showcases over the years and done many  TV specials for Comedy Central such as I’m A Grown Little Man (2009), Seriously Funny (2010), and Laugh At My Pain  (2011). He has also appeared on E!’s Chelsea Lately and in an episode of Modern Family back in 2011.  The comedian even has skills on the basketball court.  He was named MVP of the 2012 NBA All-Star celebrity game.

Hart’s new movie Think Like A Man is out in theatres April 20.

Longtime actor and comedian Eddie Griffin has officially tied the knot in Sin City. He and his lucky bride rushed to a Vegas chapel and had a small ceremony on Thursday.

One news outlet surprisingly reported that, “the Undercover Brother star and his bride spent a whopping $199 dollars on their special day.”

$199? I just went to my brother’s wedding this weekend and us groomsmen spent more on the rental tuxes. I’m not sure how he pulled off that one given his solid career.

Either way we’re always happy to see people in love tie the knot. Griffin has long been a favorite of mine, and his success in comedy has him ranked at number 62 on Comedy Central’s list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time. This year Comedy Central released You Can Tell ‘Em I said It on DVD – a stand-up special by the hilarious Griffin. The DVD contains over an hour of unedited and uncensored content.

Griffin’s acting career includes over 20 credits, with notable films such as John Q, Scary Movie 3, and Redline.
