TBS Grants Conan a Pilot Deal for New Sitcom

comedian, comedy, conan obrienThe red-haired comic wiz Conan O’Brien has just seemed to widen his already busy calendar on his home network TBS. According to the Hollywood Reporter, his new sitcom will,” center on a family man who quits his day job and returns to the neighborhood where he grew up. While there, he reunites with his former best friend.”

As of right now the title-less show will be executively produced by Coco himself along with the producer of his hit talk show Conan, Jeff Ross (who isn’t the comedian Jeffery Ross, just so you know), and David Kissinger (Adult Swim’s Eagleheart).

This hasn’t been Conan’s first try at television – where he is very successful. We definitely have high expectations for his new program. In 1987, O’Brien became a writer for NBC’s Saturday Night Live and was so good at it, they gave him an Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy or Variety Series. From there he had moved on to The Simpsons which he also wrote for as well as helped produce.  The show became an instant cult hit.

From there he became a talk show host, first for The Tonight Show - which ended on bad terms since NBC replaced him with Jay Leno – then Conan.

TBS loves Conan and would be out of their minds to not picking up a series he was involved with. Just saying.
