Trending Now: The Sh*t We Say

By now we are all familiar with “Sh*t Girls Say” and if you’re not, that means you haven’t been on the internet lately.
Written and created by Kyle Humphrey & Graydon Sheppard, “Sh*t Girls Say” began with the simple question of “could you pass me that blanket?,” a seemingly “airheaded girlism” thing to say. Finding the humor in the trivial statements commonly associated with the opposite sex, the two decided to take the idea of dedicating a twitter account and YouTube channel to just that concept and run with it.
Of course, after only a few months, the twitter account is now approaching a million followers and the videos have gone viral. But what’s really worth mentioning of this phenomenon is how the fans have taken this very concept and are running with it. The internet is now full of copycats, including yours truly “Sh*t Stephanie Says.” Some of the most funny and notable of these copycats are “Sh*t No One Says” and “Sh*t Single Girls Say.”
The popularity of these videos is continuously growing each day branching out past gender and race. There’s a videos out there for everyone and if not why not make one for yourself, a good natured way of not taking yourself or others too seriously.
As co-creator Graydon Sheppard says of the new trend, “I think part of the reason that it works is because I do identify with every single thing that I say. I catch myself saying these things in everyday life. And I don’t think anyone’s immune to it, either.”
